Summary:A method of analysis of dilatation data developed earlier has been adapted and applied to study the isothermal transformation of austenite to ferrite in three experimental steels. Good match obtained between the amount of ferrite measured from the optical microstructures and the corresponding values evaluated from the analysis of the experimental dilatation curves validates the accuracy of the new method.
