Effect of ethylene and propylene oxide-modified polysiloxanes in coating materials on the friction coefficient

In this study, the static and kinetic friction coefficients and their effect on the noise generation were investigated by preparing the coating agent using polyurethane resin, polysiloxane, ethylene and propylene oxide (EO/PO)-modified polysiloxane, PP wax, carbon black, and SiO 2 . The difference b...

Description
Summary:In this study, the static and kinetic friction coefficients and their effect on the noise generation were investigated by preparing the coating agent using polyurethane resin, polysiloxane, ethylene and propylene oxide (EO/PO)-modified polysiloxane, PP wax, carbon black, and SiO 2 . The difference between the static and kinetic friction coefficients decreased with the fraction of (EO/PO)-modified polysiloxane while sharply increasing with the friction velocity. The differences in these friction characteristics reduced the magnitude of noise generation, and the matting property was also increased by the addition of PP wax.
