Summary:The Dartmoor Vision is designed to help hill farmers who provide the grazing animals on Dartmoor's moorland. It is one of a series of initiatives within the Moor Futures project. The principal objective is to provide farmers with a clear statement on what the public bodies (i.e. statutory agencies) require them to provide in the way of public goods. The potential for conflicting land management arising from the requirements of the historic environment and the natural environment were overcome by the adoption of Premier Archaeological Landscapes: areas where the needs of the archaeology take precedence over that of the biodiversity.
