Summary:A report from the Texas Library Association Annual Conference held in Fort Worth, TX, on Apr 26, 2013 is presented. In a comprehensive, 90-minute discussion, Dr R. David Lankes, Professor and Dean's Scholar for the New Librarianship at Syracuse University's School of Information Studies and Director of the Information Institute of Syracuse, stressed that communities are no longer passive users of services or consumers of reading. Lankes invites librarians to view the library as a maker space platform, a total community resource that shares.
