Summary:Educational research is conducted within an oppressive educational system, steeped in White, Eurocentric norms rooted in racism. To counter this oppressive approach to research, we critically examine historically oppressive research approaches and provide strategies for conducting strong, ethical, antiracist research that exposes inequity while illustrating practices that benefit all students, especially those from racially marginalized populations.
