Summary:A new species of Guarea (Meliaceae) from the rainforests of Ecuador, G. cauliracemosa, is described. It is distinguished by the following combination of characters: leaflets densely tomentulose, underside of leaves with conspicuously reticulate tertiary venation and inflorescence cauline-racemose. The species is known only from Cordillera del Cóndor, Zamora-Chinchipe province, south-eastern Ecuador.
