Ion chemistry in quadricyclane
Electron ionization of quadricyclane (C7H8) has been examined by Fourier transform mass spectrometry. The ionization produces the parent ion C7Hg and 21 fragment ions with cross sections greater than 10-17 cm2 at 50 eV. The total ionization cross section reaches 2.3 x 10-15 cm2 at ~60 eV. Relaxation...

Summary: | Electron ionization of quadricyclane (C7H8) has been examined by Fourier transform mass spectrometry. The ionization produces the parent ion C7Hg and 21 fragment ions with cross sections greater than 10-17 cm2 at 50 eV. The total ionization cross section reaches 2.3 x 10-15 cm2 at ~60 eV. Relaxation of the fragment ion composition by ion-parent molecule reactions mainly proceeds through 14 ion-molecule reactions. |
