A study of current diffusion in Doublet III

Current diffusion was studied in near-circular discharges in Doublet III when the plasma current was programmed to rise linearly from an initial steady level to a second, higher, steady level. Classical current diffusion was observed for I@u. sub(p) up to 7MA multiplied by s super(-1); discharges wi...

Description
Summary:Current diffusion was studied in near-circular discharges in Doublet III when the plasma current was programmed to rise linearly from an initial steady level to a second, higher, steady level. Classical current diffusion was observed for I@u. sub(p) up to 7MA multiplied by s super(-1); discharges with I@u. sub(p) > 2 MA multiplied by s super(-1), however, disrupted at the transition from the current ramp to the second steady level.
