Summary:We show that stable optical rigidity can be obtained in a Fabry-Perot cavity having pure dissipative optomechanical coupling and detuned pumping under corresponding conditions. Optical detection of a weak classical mechanical force is analyzed under this rigidity. The sensitivity of small force measurement can be better than the standard quantum limit.
