Summary: | Owing to its unique electrical and optical properties, 4,7-di(2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (DTBT) moiety has became one of the most important building block for the synthesis of high-performance conjugated polymers. DTBT is commonly synthesized by Stille or Suzuki coupling reactions which are costly and time-consuming. In this work, DTBT moiety was prepared via an operationally simple method namely direct arylation. This coupling was performed under mild condition, giving the product in good yield. |
