Summary: | A dam-break flow of water above horizontal dry bottom is studied numerically, after the comprehensive review of available literature. Computation tools include different interface resolution techniques and the continuous surface tension force model. The results are compared with the measurement data. It is shown that surface tension leads to the motion suppression and, therefore, to the acceleration decrease, providing closer agreement with laboratory experiments. |
