Description
Summary:To study the residual stress distribution on the machining surface of TC4 titanium alloy and its influence on the milling stability, a three-dimensional milling model of TC4 titanium alloy workpiece milling with carbide end milling cutter was established based on Abaqus finite element software. Constraints were imposed according to the actual machining conditions. The distribution of residual stress on the machined surface of TC4 titanium alloy with different milling parameters was investigated by using the angular velocity and feed velocity of the tool as input load variables. The simulation results show that along the tool feed direction for reference, its residual stress was generally greater than the left side of the milling groove on the right side of the milling groove residual stress, cutting tool feed direction on the normal direction of the farther distances from the center of the tool axis of the residual stress value, the greater the residual stresses in longitudinal depth was as the smaller the farther distance milling surface stress value.
