Description
Summary:This paper contains the research results from calculation of stored deformation energy in the surface layer of a sample with considerations for material hardening under deformation, i.e., change in its microhardness. A dependency was obtained describing changes in the stored deformation energy in the surface layer as a function of temperature. A dependence of interdislocational interaction parameter on temperature has been found out; the latter being a characteristic of the amount of energy stored in the surface layer. Correction of the calculated surface layer stored energy from cutting for temperature is performed by taking into account the dependency of the shear modulus of the processed surface material in the cutting zone on temperature, where the cutting zone depends on the processing condition (cutting mode and cutting tool geometry).
