Description
Summary:We propose and demonstrate a technique to tailor and analyze the vectorial coherence in three-dimension paraxial propagation. This is realized by proposing a new experimental scheme to simultaneously admit and modify the transverse polarization components of the light with a single spatial light modulator. Subsequently, these polarization components are projected on to a diffuser to realize a light field with a desired correlation structure in the transverse and longitudinal planes. The correlation structure is analyzed by applying the Hanbury Brown-Twiss approach in order to examine the two-point intensity correlation at different transverse and longitudinal planes. Controlled shaping of the field and its analysis is carried out for two different cases of the polarized sources at the diffuser, namely circular and annular and results are presented. These results are also compared with theoretical ones and a good match is found between the two.
