Description
Summary:A technic has been developed whereby rabbits and guinea pigs can be subjected to prolonged hypothermia of 8 to 10 C. A convenient method of temperature measurement and control of as many as 10 animals simultaneously has been described. Rabbits have been found to tolerate continuous hypothermia of 8 to 10 C. for periods as long as 96 hours. Guinea pigs do not well tolerate continuous hypothermia for periods longer than 24 hours but may be subjected to periods of 24 hours or less, repeatedly, over many weeks.
