Summary: | Data from the Ariel V Sky Survey Instrument (SSI) has been searched for further X-ray sources associated with Abell clusters. Five new X-ray sources have been found and for four of these the error box includes a single Abell cluster. The fifth coincides with one of the superclusters listed by Murray et al. but not detected by Uhuru. None of the superclusters claimed to be X-ray sources by Murray et al. have been detected here, but the significance of this result depends on the extent to which the 4U fluxes have been overestimated. This may be more than a factor of two for the weakest sources. Upper limits are given for a further list of undetected clusters. |
