Description
Summary:Spider monkeys regularly developed infection when large doses (1011 LD50) of Langat virus were administered orally, but were irregularly infected when the same dose was administered by stomach tube. A smaller (105 LD50) virus inoculum did not infect all monkeys when given by the oral route, but did infect all monkeys when injected subcutaneously. The majority of both enteric and parenteral infections were accompanied by viremia and pharyngeal excretion, but virus was never isolated from the stool.
