Summary: | Etiolated Sorghum bicolor seedlings manifested a significant morphological response to short term irradiations by red and far-red light and to a continuous far-red light. Accumulation of chlorophylls in white light and carotenoids in darkness is under red/far-red reversible control as well as along with the effectiveness of ‘High Irradiance Reaction’. Phytochrome is also found to eliminate the lag phase during the accumulation of chlorophylls and carotenoids in white light. |
