Summary: | The implications for radiation protection instrumentation of the ICRU 39 proposals on new operational quantities for gamma and neutron ambient dose equivalent H* and individual dose equivalent, penetrating, Hp(10) measurements are considered. It is shown that the ICRU Working Committee has arranged for these quantities to be adaptable to existing instrumentation. The most important modification concerns the calibration procedure. It is essential to have at ones disposal transfer coefficients linking calibration and operational quantities. |
