Summary: | The diagnostic X ray (50-120 kVp) response characteristics of a TLD (thermoluminescence dosemeter) badge currently in use for countrywide personnel monitoring of radiation workers in India is described. The badge consists of three CaSO4:Dy Teflon discs, below: (i) Cu+Al filters, (ii) Perspex, and (iii) an open window. Its response underneath the protective lead apron(s) as well as its angular dependence are reported. Two different dose evaluation procedures are described and their relative accuracies are discussed. |
