Description
Summary:The dose equivalent response of a new type of electronic personal neutron dosemeter was measured in the reference neutron fields of the PTB at various energies between thermal and 19 MeV and with neutrons from 252Cf neutron sources. The dosemeter, irradiated on a phantom, exhibits an over-response of up to a factor 70 at energies between 200 eV and 100 keV. This may lead to misinterpretation of the dosemeter reading when even small quantities of low energy neutrons are present.
