Summary:Our research programs focus on mechanistic understanding of how chemical modifications of chromatin (including methylations of DNA and histone tails) regulate gene expression and cell fate determination during development, and how their deregulations lead to diseases such as cancer. We have recently identified and characterized novel proteins that specifically bind to histone lysine methylations. These histone methylation ‘readers/effectors’ are crucially involved in gene and genome regulation, cell lineage specification and/or cancerous transformation. In addition, we studied phase separation of transcription factor, which is critically involved in organization of three‐dimensional chromatin structure during pathogenesis. Lastly, we aim to developing inhibitor of epigenetic factors as new therapeutics. During this meeting, we will report our progress along these lines.
