Summary: | Crystal storing histiocytosis (CSH) is a rare phenomenon with intracytoplasmic accumulation of crystalline immunoglobulin in histiocytes, associated with lymphoproliferative disorders, most commonly multiple myeloma and lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. There are only seven reported cases of CSHs associated with ex-tranodal marginal zone B cell lymphoma/MALT lymphoma to our knowledge. The most common sites involved by CSH are bone marrow, liver, spleen, and lymph node. Involvement of skin is very rarely reported. We discuss two cases of cutaneous CSHs seen at the Liverpool Hospital Dermatology Clinic: one in a 52-year-old man with CSH associated with multiple myeloma; the other in an 80-year-old woman with CSH as a result of primary cutaneous ex-tranodal marginal zone B cell lymphoma/MALT lymphoma. |
