Description
Summary:Association between brunneroma and gastric cancer development in young patients are little mentioned in literature. The association is suspected to be self-sustaining process due to secretion of MEGF and the positivity for EFGR of the gastric cancer. With this context we present the particularities of such a case investigated at Emergency Care Hospital in M Ciuc Romania. A 30-year-old female patient with apparent benign pyloric stenosis, underwent surgery. Blood and tissue samples were processed using hematoxylin-eosin technique, van Gieson, immunohistochemistry as well as tests for urogastrone before and after surgery. Forensic autopsy revealed the presence massive myocardial necrosis with pulmonary edema. Microscopically, the specimen revealed a poorly cohesive cells type gastric carcinoma in association with a benign Brunner glands hyperplasia. Immunohistochemistry and molecular research for EGFR and HEGF indicated the opportunity for a treatment approach for the combo. Particularity of the case are given by the association of poorly cohesive cells gastric carcinoma and the brunneroma and their positivity for EGFR. Rare cases of this type are published to clinical literature due to the potential for new treatment approach and the chance to monitor the stage and evolution of the disease.
