Incidence of recurrent gallstone ileus is as high as 20% and poses a diagnostic dilemma in the immediate postoperative week. Despite advancement in modern medicine, surgical intervention for gallstone ileus is associated with high mortality rate. This could be attributed by the elderly patient cohort with multiple comorbidities.
