Magnetization and coercivity of antiferromagnetic particles

The magnetic behavior of antiferromagnetic particles, with sc and bcc lattice structures, has been studied using the Monte Carlo simulation technique. The magnetization of the particles is a surface effect. At very low temperatures the surface exchange field gives a high coercivity. At high temperat...

Description
Summary:The magnetic behavior of antiferromagnetic particles, with sc and bcc lattice structures, has been studied using the Monte Carlo simulation technique. The magnetization of the particles is a surface effect. At very low temperatures the surface exchange field gives a high coercivity. At high temperatures, the coercivity scales with the proportion of the uncompensated spins in the particle.
