Description
Summary:ATM switching fabrics are good candidates to implement high performance parallel event builders for the future data acquisition systems in particle physics experiments. We are studying their feasibility through simulations and implementation of event builder demonstrators. We present results from performance measurements made with a demonstrator based on a commercial ATM switch and on network interfaces that we have developed. The measurements are compared with the simulation studies and their scalability is discussed.
