Description
Summary:This paper deals with an experimental study of the power imparted by wind to a flexible circular cylinder vibrating in the wake of a fixed upstream cylinder. Different arrangements and spacings between the cylinders have been examined. The results obtained differ significantly from those of an isolated cylinder. The power input is larger and decreases with increasing of either the separation between the cylinders or the bundle inclination angle with respect to the flow direction. Beyond a bundle inclination angle of 20/spl deg/, the downstream cylinder behaves as an isolated one.
