Statistical Models of Multicore Fiber Crosstalk Including Time Delays

Description
Summary:Statistical models for the accumulation of crosstalk in multicore fibers are extended to include time-varying signals and relative delays. Crosstalk is thus described as multiple delayed copies of the signal with uncorrelated phase. A simple model of an equalized channel suggests that independent degrees of freedom are required to cancel each of the many delayed copies, resulting in an unfavorable scaling of the equalizer complexity.
