Description
Summary:A compact dual-band Van Atta array work at C / X bands is proposed in this paper. A single port dual-band antenna (SPDBA) and single port single-band antenna (SPSBA) are designed for the dual-band Van Atta array. The structure reused method is employed in the design of the SPDBA. The high frequency antenna is reused as the excitation structure of the low frequency antenna. The SPDBAs and the SPSBAs are interlaced to form a dual-band antenna array, which can reduce the number of antennas and control the antenna spacings. The spacings of the antennas in C / X bands are 0.54 λ L0 and 0.51 λ H0 respectively. The single layer and single port structure of the antennas effectively reduce the number of transmission lines and the size of the dual-band Van Atta array. The total size of the compact dual-band Van Atta array is 142mm×30mm×3.2mm. The −4dB beamwidths of the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) at 5.8GHz and 10.6GHz are 59° and 62°.
