Fiber Ring Laser Using Optical Fiber Microdisk as Reflection Mirror

We report on an erbium-doped fiber ring laser using a glass microdisk as a narrow linewidth reflection mirror. The microdisk is made of optical fibers through simple fabrication steps and it has a measured Q-factor of 7.8 × 10 6 . The fiber ring laser has a linewidth of less than 0.16 pm, wavelength...

Description
Summary:We report on an erbium-doped fiber ring laser using a glass microdisk as a narrow linewidth reflection mirror. The microdisk is made of optical fibers through simple fabrication steps and it has a measured Q-factor of 7.8 × 10 6 . The fiber ring laser has a linewidth of less than 0.16 pm, wavelength stability of ±1.2 pm, and power stability of ±0.3 dB.
