Description
Summary:This article presents a case study of using self-cognizant prognostics for the management of three key areas in a nursing home where a substantial proportion of power consumption is spent in a typical nursing home environment. Using a power-efficient monitoring system, our case study covers smart lighting, air conditioning, and meal preparation, with the aim of reducing the cost of operation through more efficient use of energy with smart and assistive technologies. The results show an overall enhancement of approximately 10% in energy efficiency while offering a safe environment for elderly patients in a smart nursing home.
