Summary: | The performance of Gunn-effect oscillators considered for use as signal sources for microwave attenuation measurement is described, with particular attention being given to the determination of amplitude stability. The performance of an intermediate frequency receiver, using integrated-circuit solid-state components, is described. The results indicate that a resolution of 0.0002 dB can be achieved with the simple parallel substitution IF receiver circuit. |
