Summary: | The higher electrical energy consumption in educational public institutions is one of the most problems faced by those who are in charge of there. Notwithstanding there are ways of getting consumption's reduction which came throughout building automation projects applied to a building energy efficiency. In Brazil, there isn't yet a government investment that will adopt procedures to measure and quantify the energy efficiency with automation, unlike Europe whose existing standards already deal with the impact of those variables. This article is an application of the methodology adopted in EN15232 for a case study in an educational institution. It deals with the energy saving estimation of an educational institution classroom through the use of automation based on the EN15232. To that, it was make use of projects factors, calculated the loads and determined the energy demand. With the knowledge gained from the equations of BAC efficiency factors, is possible to assess the energy savings that leads to a 16 % reduction. Therefore, it proposes the investment of building automation that will bring energy savings, mainly in Brazilian educational institutions. Thus, the challenge is to reproduce the achieved results so that we can discuss a review in Brazilian standards |
