Summary: | Topology optimization techniques are very promising methods, because they allow one to obtain an initial conceptual structure starting with minimal information on the design object. This paper proposes a novel topology optimization method that takes into account an asymmetrical rotor structure. The phase angle of stator current is not considered in the topology optimization process, thanks to an asymmetrical rotor. This paper designs the rotor topology of a permanent magnet synchronous generator. The obtained rotors have several topologies by considering permanent magnets with different magnetized directions, and have a better performance than that of Prius generator. |
