Summary: | Efficient light coupling into and out of nonlinear etalons is achieved by using direct fiber-etalon-fiber interfaces. This technique can be used with etalons operating in both transmission and reflection. The improved uniformity of the etalons having mirrors grown by molecular beam epitaxy allows this technique to be extended to interface fiber arrays with many optical logic gates. Some simple analysis and possible applications of optical fiber interconnects in a digital optical system are presented. |
