Optical matrix structure for optical interconnection between two groups of points

We propose a new method for optical interconnections between illuminating and receiving points. This method uses optical matrix structures (OMSs) to operate compact, simple, and cheap connections. Matrix structure elements can be reflective, refractive, or diffractive optical elements. The optical f...

description We propose a new method for optical interconnections between illuminating and receiving points. This method uses optical matrix structures (OMSs) to operate compact, simple, and cheap connections. Matrix structure elements can be reflective, refractive, or diffractive optical elements. The optical features of these elements must be determined one by one according to their light-redirection requirement. From the experiment results, this new OMS method performs better than the other conventional methods. ©
