Acoustic-archeological analysis of the Peruvian sound vessels

The sound vessels have been discovered in several cultures from countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. This research studied 15 double pots acoustic vessels of the Chimu (1100–1462 d.C.), Lambayeque (700–1100 d.C.), Viru (200 a.C.–200 d.C.), and Chancay cultures (900 d.C.–1100 d. C.)...

Description
Summary:The sound vessels have been discovered in several cultures from countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. This research studied 15 double pots acoustic vessels of the Chimu (1100–1462 d.C.), Lambayeque (700–1100 d.C.), Viru (200 a.C.–200 d.C.), and Chancay cultures (900 d.C.–1100 d. C.). The study consists of two parts: the archaeological survey and acoustic analysis. The archaeological study focuses on the iconographic analysis of the vessels to explain the possible meanings and uses of this instrument. Sound analysis describes its operation using a simple electro-mechanical acoustic model approximation to understand the sound behavior of the vessels.
