Scattering from cylindrical structures with various end-cap shapes
The scattered field from a cylindrical structure near the forward direction is computed using the Kirchhoff approximation of scattering from a screen. The effects of varying the shape of the end-caps are examined by carrying out target strength computations for various shapes. The cylindrical region...

Summary: | The scattered field from a cylindrical structure near the forward direction is computed using the Kirchhoff approximation of scattering from a screen. The effects of varying the shape of the end-caps are examined by carrying out target strength computations for various shapes. The cylindrical region is modeled to be impenetrable while the effects of varying the reflectivity of the end-cap regions are examined. [Work supported by ONR.] |
