An approach to communicating in-field acoustical performance to architects as it relates to end user experience
A study was conducted within an industry leading architecture firm to benchmark the noise isolation class, background noise level, and reverberation time throughout the firm’s spaces. Testing was conducted in accordance with the general guidelines of ASTM E336-14, ANSI S1.13, and ASTM E2235-04. Acou...

Summary: | A study was conducted within an industry leading architecture firm to benchmark the noise isolation class, background noise level, and reverberation time throughout the firm’s spaces. Testing was conducted in accordance with the general guidelines of ASTM E336-14, ANSI S1.13, and ASTM E2235-04. Acoustical test results were compared to employee subjective satisfaction survey responses in an effort to bridge the gap between acoustical design recommendations and end users’ expectations and experiences of their environment.
