Summary:This paper will be discussed some aspects to be considered in the contextual design of soundscapes in contrast with the classical acoustic design. Aspects as: perception in base of cultural background, perception as a multisensorial integration, attention versus boredom, expectation versus deception, soundscape versus landscape, real versus virtual, deterministic design versus design by compromise, isolation respect other spaces, complying of regulations, etc. Also, the need for an open mind approach in education of soundscape design will be discussed.
