Determination of basic components in single crystals of Li-, B-, Sr-, La-, and Ga-based oxide compounds by atomic emission spectrometry

Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and flame spectrometry are used to establish the stoichiometric composition of Li 6 Gd(BO 3 ) 3 , Li 5.4 Na 0.6 Gd(BO 3 ) 3 , LaB 3 O 6 , and SrB 4 O 7 single crystals, including cerium-doped crystals. It is shown that flame spectrome...

Description
Summary:Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and flame spectrometry are used to establish the stoichiometric composition of Li 6 Gd(BO 3 ) 3 , Li 5.4 Na 0.6 Gd(BO 3 ) 3 , LaB 3 O 6 , and SrB 4 O 7 single crystals, including cerium-doped crystals. It is shown that flame spectrometry is more advantageous for analysis of pure borate crystals. ICP-AES is more universal and allows determining basic elements and admixtures independently of solvents used for decomposition of borate samples. Both methods provide sufficient accuracy of the analysis.
