Description
Summary:A synthetic gene encoding dispersin B of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli cells. Procedure for purification of recombinant dispersin B was developed, and its in vitro activity was determined. The enzyme was used in experiments on disruption of the biofilms formed by various microorganisms. It exhibited high activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilms. The biofilms formed by Burkholderia cenocepacia and Achromobacter xylosoxidans were more resistant to the recombinant enzyme.
