Description
Summary:The piercing of billets in a helical rolling mill with guide disks is considered. The resulting sleeve sizes are shown to differ significantly from the sizes of the sleeves produced using other piercing schemes because of severe tangential deformation. As a result, the energy–force parameters of piercing are different and the results of their calculations according to the generally accepted empirical dependences are inadequate. The results of piercing simulation with the QFORM 3D software package are presented.
