Summary:Reaction of a polyfunctional cyanate ester with an epoxy oligomer was studied. A procedure for preparing a binder for composite materials by the solvent-free prepreg technology was developed, studied, and optimized. Curing of this binder occurs without release of by-products and leads to the formation of a heat-resistant polymeric matrix. The binder was tested as a component of a composite; the material can operate at a temperature as high as 250°C.
