Summary: | A number of new chelate compounds based on 3d-transition metals and autocomplexes of the dinitroquinoline series were synthesized. The crystalline structure of the new complexes was determined by X-ray analysis, and their spectral properties were studied. The complexes have a conformation which gives rise to two modes of contact intramolecular charge transfer: intraligand, which is intrinsic to the initial ligand molecules, and interligand (as in binary charge-transfer complexes). The latter involves the corresponding pairs of donor and acceptor fragments of the initial ligand molecules, which appear spatially close as a result of complex formation. |
