Summary: | A new humidity sensor based on photonic crystal opal film is proposed. To ensure sensitivity to the relative air humidity, saturated water salt solutions are applied to the opal structure. A tenfold increase in the film transmittance in the band gap is achieved upon an increase in humidity above the threshold value. This humidity sensor does not require calibration and has high temporal stability. |
