Description
Summary:We consider photon creation through the dynamical Casimir effect in a semiconductor material. Unlike previous studies, we evaluate the number of created photons using a microscopic model in which polarization degree of freedom is included in the theory as a microscopic variable, under realistic situations in which material parameters vary by a finite magnitude within a finite time, in a material which exhibits strong dispersions in the dielectric constant. Our results differ strikingly from previous results.
