Description
Summary:The structure of piezoelectric transformers were studied to enlarge the output power capacity. The power parameter m A 2 2 was proposed to predict the performance of the high-power piezoelectric transformers. In a former report, we proposed a new-structure piezoelectric transformer named alternately poled piezoelectric transformer (APT). Its step-up ratio was twice as large as that of the Rosen type transformer, in spite of the single layer structure. In this study, the APT with 1.5 wavelength resonant mode was modified to increase the output power capacity and the multilayer structure was utilized to enlarge the step-up ratio. As a result, both a high step-up ratio of 23 and the output power capacity of 7.1 W were accomplished under a load of 100 k Ω.
