Description
Summary:In a piezoelectric substrate on which two interdigital transducers (IDTs) are located, the electromechanical characteristics of the IDT(s), the admittance of the 1st IDT and the transmission from the 1st IDT to the 2nd IDT, are measured in the following two cases: when the substrate is in contact with a load medium and the radiation of the energy from the substrate into the load medium occurs, and when the substrate is in contact only with air and the radiation does not occur. Measurements show that the electromechanical characteristics have a certain periodicity in the frequency domain only when the radiation occurs, which is explained by the reaction of the radiation. Since the radiation intensity from the substrate has a periodicity in the frequency domain due to the energy confinement and the interference inside the IDT, the electric current in the IDT is reduced and also becomes periodic.
